There’s plenty of corruption and extreme ill-gotten wealth in those countries too (and in all countries). I wouldn’t want my kids going to a school populated by the children of Trumps, Kochs, or even the Zuckerbergs

I would take those families' children over the Bidens any day!

Boo hoo.

My daughter is a freshman at Madeira and I have no idea what you’re talking about. This is the last thing that would cross my mind when describing the school (which has been fantastic for her).

I've heard from a teacher there that Madeira could fill the entire class with International Chinese students, but they don't accept that many. I'd assume that these girls make up a large portion of the international population though.

Just don’t apply, since you can’t police who the school accepts. 🙄

DCUM seems to have a rapidly diminishing pool of "acceptable" classmates

Not that we've seen--not at all. Our daughter is a freshman, and the international students she's become friends with are delightful and sweet and smart. I don't know what any of their parents' employment may be, and certainly there's money around with tuition fees as they are, but there aren't Kardashian-types running 'round that campus. The families I've met of girls both international students and other boarders send their kids to Madeira for the education and experience--not for status or to buy a credential they don't earn.

When it comes to college applications - would these boarders are Madeira be considered as international students? And hence would be eligible for international quota in various colleges that are so inclined? thank you.

I have no idea. But my guess would be the have more Koreans and Chinese that want to learn English well than they do Russian Oligarch daughters.
