Montessori and VPI/CPP programs tend to be quite separate from the rest of the school in my experience. They have their own recess times, they eat in the classroom so I don't think the overcrowding matters as much. I have met several families from Oakridge through extracurriculars and they have been some of the nicest families in Arlington IME.

We were offered a spot in Oakridge Montessori and are new to the area. I've heard a lot of confusing things about Oakridge: that it's overcrowded, that it's not overcrowded because it was redistricted, that they teachers have high turnover, that the teachers are wonderful, that there are a high number of non-English speakers due to Pentagon temporary placements and that makes the classroom environment really challenging.

I've heard nothing specifically about the Montessori program.

Does anyone have any insight into the Montessori program? Or how happy people were with it? DC is 3 and would be entering in the fall.
