We prep three heads of romaine like this every Sunday I even chop carrots, celery, radish and peppers too. Makes taking salad to work a breeze.
Has anyone used the salad spinner to more quickly clean and dry herbs (ex. cilantro, parsley, etc.)?

OP here. Hmm, maybe I am being unrealistic. I have the OXO spinner and I don't think I am overstuffing it but it just seems like nothing really gets dry. If I want to just get heavy water off, I could put the leaves in a dishtowel and shake them over the sink and accomplish the same thing. Is that all a salad spinner really does, and I have an unrealistic view?

Anonymous wrote:Mine dries the lettuce ok as long as I don't fill it too full. But it does shred the lettuce a bit around the edges, which spoils quickly if I don't use the lettuce right away. So I can't really do the whole 'wash and dry a week's worth of lettuce at once' thing.
I think I should get a new salad spinner, since I never have this problem with the one at my mom's house. But instead I just buy the clamshells of pre-washed lettuce.
