You do realize that the majority of the girls at NCS are there because they had/have a hook. And now you’re complaining that same gravy train you rode in on is now leaving the station without you.

How does it reduce your child’s odds? There’s really nowhere to go to increase your child’s odds.

Your poor children, OP.

I thought it was about the journey.

You don't know me from Adam but I honestly don't have an obsession with the Ivy League. However, it also really sucks to learn that many top schools are essentially off-the-table.
I hadn't realized this. I don't think many of us do when we apply to the top high schools with a top academic kid.
We don't view the Big3 (or similar) as a ticket to a good college but it also sucks to realize that your kid will have significantly FEWER options.

FEWER than what? These schools are hard to get into no matter where you come from and there are hooked kids at every school.

Why do you think your kid has fewer options? Who are you comparing your big3 kid to?

If you can afford a big 3 you can afford a lot of other things, too, including moving. Just sayin

I don't know this info about my kid's class. I don't know where everyone is going, nor do I know where parents went to school.

I have kids at NCS.
It looks like there is one Ivy admit at NCS this year outside of the 3 hook categories (legacy/athlete/URM).
Is it the same at the other "Big3"?
Where are the top academic kids that are unhooked going?
