Every nanny young and old are constantly on the phone
Talking loud, texting, pushing strollers with their elbows, etc

Absolutely not my observation at all! In fact I’m home with my toddler and see nannies all the time. At first I though the most engaged were the childrens grandmothers but latter found out they were nannies. They are always running around and playing with the kids. No phones in sight.

I didn't ask her. When is it ever okay to constantly check your phone during an interview? She lacks common sense.

Nannies and babysitters can be a mixed bag. I’ve had great luck with college kids and nanny moms for part time (hint: they have reasons to want part time).

Go with an older nanny but also understand very few good childcare providers want or can afford part time. Your pool of candidates will be very small so don’t be too choosy.

+1. Older women make the best nannies IMO anyway and generally they are not addicted to their phones.

No it’s not impossible. She sounds terrible and also like she’s about 15-was she young? just keep looking.
