Do you mind sharing stats and major?

CS major, 35 ACT, 3.7 UW GPA. He also got $30,000 a year at Northeastern but ultimately chose state flagship.

Congratulations. Could I ask, did he have a "hook"?

No. Fairly normal EC like Eagle Scout, Varsity 3 season sports, state orchestra, hackathons. And started a successful business.

This is what we’ve come to, where these ECs are considered fairly normal.

Exactly. No wonder our kids are under so much pressure.

Its not pressure if they're doing and learning things they love.

Previous poster with the 40K DS mentioned above. Did not apply separately, was automatic.

Case gives alot of merit (most given this year was 40,500/year, but sticker price this year is 82K)

Check out the Case admissions posts on college confidential to see stats of the kids and what merit they got

We do not qualify for financial aid but wondering if they will provide merit award for high stat DC. She is applying this fall and Case is one of her top choice at the moment.
