I would think saying those vows, the part that says “till death do us part” or equivalent, would become awkward for me… or do they strike that off?

My ex has 3 exwives. Gets engaged to every girlfriend. Has never not immediately moved in with a GF.

My sister is on number 4. I finally figured her out. She's a romantic and believes what she sees on tv. When one man loses the romance part she hops on the the next. Rinse and repeat. Her 3rd was a millionaire many times over yet she still craved that new love feeling. She's also a prolific cheater. Her favorite kind of movies are cheater movies, she learns tricks. She has no morals and is not loyal to anyone but herself. As long as she has her wine, her pills, her housekeeper, money to shop, can lay around all day she's good. When she flips she's full of hate.
She's in love with being in love. 2 of her husbands were shitheads so there's that but the last one and current one are/were very nice.
Personally I think she's crazy and can't really be a good wife nor was she a good mother. The only reason her two kids are doing well is because their fathers raised them not her.
When the newness wears off she needs a new fix. She's getting too old to throw that p on anyone but she doesn't seem to ever be without a man.
One time I told her she's had more husbands than men I know. She told me if I left my husband she would hook me up.

Honestly I don't know. I'm on my 2nd and if this doesn't work out (I think it will), then it's singlehood for me.

I don't think this is common anymore. I have relatives who married several times because they wouldn't have sex outside marriage, and they chose poorly because they were in their teens or early twenties. The last marriage always stuck.

why is this a bigger issue than someone dating 50 people and having sex with them. I've met some people who have had well over 100 partners. It's totally gross. As you age the pool becomes smaller. Maybe they die? I don't know. When people live a long time it's not ridiculous to marry 3 people in a lifetime.
