I think many people are sick but are testing. My boss was hacking away for a week at work spreading germs to everyone he contacted. It’s easy to spread when you leave the house sick and don’t wear a mask. In a school environment with no masks, that’s a perfect place for COVID to spread.

Most people are ready to move on. Public policy is set for the masses not the tiny minority numbers. MoCo is "green" per the CDC, and they are following CDC guidelines.

Of 209 schools in MCPS, 80 (38%) are improving, 103 (49%) are steady without new infections, and only 26 (12%) are getting worse. Total case count dropped from 1344 to 1233. If this happens again tomorrow, then it's a clear indication the coronavirus wave is passing. 53% (110 of 209) schools in MCPS have 4 or more reported infections in the past 10 days (also dropping).
