What you’re asking for are the most sought after hours and no one can live on part time. The sitter will leave you the instant she finds full time work.
Thanks. This is my concern of course. I know know one can live on those hours but not everyone needs a job to live on, if there’s a reason they want to be part time (college kids and sometimes nanny moms). Although these are probably worse hours than I’ve offered before and the demand for this kind of schedule will be high, so I get it. Maybe I should rely more on family backup.
Also, TBH, there aren't a lot of college kids in Silver Spring. There are a lot of people scraping by who need FT income to survive.

Anonymous wrote:So we did something similar. Our DD went to pre k 3 days a week and it ended at 2pm. We needed childcare on 2 of those days. One of my mom friends had her kid at the same school so she picked up DD with her kid and we paid her. They actually went to the sane ES school so we kept this arrangement going for 3 years ( Covid changed it) Tour situation might be more challenging because of the different ages and times though.

Like you said most people don't want those hours. Either they are full time and can't or don't want to be tied down to those hours.
Good luck!
