This is just south of the Spring Hill Road Metro Station - it's replacing some current car dealers. The area is currently zoned for Westbriar ES/Kilmer MS/Marshall HS

Tell us what you really mean.

This is a tricky spot - it's currently zoned for Marshall, but within a mile or so of the boundaries for Madison, McLean and Langley. If FCPS was strategic (and that's a big IF) this would serve as a catalyst for reviewing Tysons' school zones.

Where in Tyson’s would this be? I don’t see a map. Which ES and MS would it impact?

Child please. Do you apply that rule to other schools as well? Including Langley. Marshall doesn’t have space to expand.

This is a new development and closer to Langley than many current Langley neighborhoods.

Wouldn’t need to be an island although the expansion of Langley’s boundaries to accommodate the new development would mostly include commercial areas.

The county is planning to build 500 units of new affordable housing in Tysons in the Marshall HS district:

This is new housing so there are no existing residents with ties to particular schools.

As I understand it, Marshall is at capacity and it’s quite hard to place into Marshall now for IB. Langley on the other hand is still below capacity. Would this not be a good opportunity for FCPS to honor its commitment to equity and One Fairfax by assigning this new development to Langley?
