There are three area 1 directors.

The best one!

Dyson came from outside MCPS and was just passing through to the next promotion.
Many of the Directors don’t have experience or have had problems. MCPS will look outside of MCPS for Dyson’s replacement.

Just passing through for 23 years? She started with MCPS in 1999, and has been a teacher, SDT, AP, principal, director, and associate superintendent.

Nope. According to her MCPS bio, she started teaching in 1999. She has held positions in Charles County for part of those “23” years. She jumped around for the next promotion.

What a weird thing to be so insistent about. She was an AP in Charles County for one year; the rest of her career she has been in MCPS.

She's a professional troll or MCPS hater. Sometimes it's hard to tell the difference.

It’s also hard to know how much time MCPS PR and communications staff spend posting throughout the day. MCPS, including Dr. Dyson, isn’t as wonderful as some would like this forum to believe.

DP. - LOL. This forum absolutely hate MCPS. It is a "let's take down MCPS at all cost" forum from private school parents and the other wannabe great school districts.

Don't let facts get in the way of their grievances.

Yeah, no. You know none of which you speak. Of the many directors for each cluster many of them were also accomplished principals. Perhaps my favorite will be the area associate superintendent.

Sarah Sirgo has been a director since 2015, and has been presenting in front of the board a lot during the pandemic. It wouldn't surprise me if she were promoted.

Now that Cheryl Dyson is going to become superintendent in Frederick County, who will apply for her job in MCPS? Who should get it?

She is currently the Area 1 associate superintendent, which oversees nine clusters: Blake, Churchill, Einstein, Kennedy, Magruder, Paint Branch, Richard Montgomery, Rockville, and Whitman.
