I just love how you got somebody to do your shopping for you. I love my Hyundai Santa fe with the third row and leather. It's nice, but not so nice that I flinch when it gets dirty.
My 2013 still looks new and is selling for about 17K so in your price range, you'd probably get a really newish one.

We have a Kia Sorento. It's not pretty but it's very functional and has never had any problems. We got it in 2017 and it was 1 year old with low miles.

I'm partial to the Pilot because that's what I have and I love it, but I have heard the Mazda CX-9 is an awesome vehicle. Here's one in Rockville, 2019 with 16k miles on it for just under $35k.

I drove my Acura MDX for almost 10 years and am kicking myself that I didn't buy another certified preowned one. I would go with that.

Hyundai Palisade or Kia Telluride. You won't get top trim for $35k, but you'll get a third row.

We are looking for same thing but don't need the third row. We test drove a new Mazda CX-9, it's fabulous. I really loved driving it and it was very comfortable in the second row, but we didn't even look at third row. But the price was $43k or $600/month leasing. We also test drove used Jeep Grand Cherokees, they have tons of space in trunk but no third row. We are looking at Hyundai Santa Fe next - that appears to be more in the $35k price point.

If you’re ok with small third rows, you just need to go back to 2018/2019 model years to get a certified Mazda CX-5 or Acura MDX for that. Both are very nice cars and the Mazda drives great…but neither are terribly spacious inside if you’re hauling 3 kids and a bunch of gear regularly.
If you want a true full size SUV…well, I don’t think any of them are terribly good. You’d probably be better off with a 2018/2019 Pacifica.
