Yes, it's actually a longer list than you would think of countries whose citizens can get Global Entry:

I guess it would appeal to people with family in the US who come to visit a lot, or business travelers who make frequent trips.

DH has global entry and not US citizen (green card).

Well the Supreme Court said it was okay as long as you don't explicitly say it's for religion.

Anyway, I have a few friends who were born in the US but are of Iranian and Arab descent, with very Iranian/Arab names, and definitely identifiably Middle Eastern. None have had any problems getting GE.
