Now let’s get rid of the useless vaccine requirement for athletes. Wimbledon did it. So can MCPS!

Why, aren't you the one who keeps screaming about science! Science is saying to vaccinate.

Why are you so adamantly ignoring the data we have been collecting for the past two year? There is no justification to be placing the burden of this pandemic on kids any longer.

Zero kids age 0-17 have died of Covid in Montgomery County since the beginning of this pandemic.

https://www.montgomerycountymd.gov/covid19/data/case-counts.html#deaths-age

Contact tracing in schools? Unnecessary.
Requiring kids to wear masks to play soccer outside? Ridiculous.
Mandating the Covid vaccine for kids to play sports? Unethical.

You want to argue that we should mandate contact tracing and vaccines in nursing homes? Sure, I can get behind that. But leave our kids alone.

Yes, that also needs to go.

I for one am not happy about this. While contact tracing was hardly perfect it gave us a heads up to be vigilant. We’re all vaxed and boosted so we don’t have to quarantine meaning there was zero downside to knowing. My son has had 2 exposures this week so I’m relieved we heard directly so we can at least move him out of the bedroom he shares with his brother who doesn’t want to miss an important upcoming event and keep him away from grandpa. I know my kids could be exposed anywhere at any time, but it just helps me to mitigate risks to know.

With that said, I appreciate that this frees up a lot of time for school staff who made the calls.

Our school was y doing anything useful anyway. Just sent an email saying you were a contact but didn’t tell you any context. I would rather just know if someone in the class had it anyway.

Agreed. I’m sure the principals are happy to see this gone, as am I.

This is the same logic who think that not testing for Covid will make it go away.

Numbers go up, precautions lesson, typical MCPS. Pretend its not happening.
