Same poster back again (so far it's me and the OP on this thread). I just happened to look at Dominion's website again literally moments after posting this, and look what they've done...now Dr. Roura has a picture and is labeled as a "fellow in reproductive endocrinology". https://www.dominionfertility.com/our-practice/our-doctors/
That said, what I typed above still stands that REI fellowships are completed as part of one of 48 or 49 ACGME-accredited programs around the US, and Dominion is not presently clearly affiliated with any such programs. So I hope Dominion further clarifies what educational program Dr. Roura is affiliated with that makes him eligible to be designated as a "fellow in reproductive endocrinology."

I'm the PP, and you're welcome. I agree that patients should know what experience level(s) their medical team has/have, and I expect a doctor at a fertility clinic doing retrievals and embryo transfers to have completed a 3-year REI fellowship where they would get extensive experience in these procedures. Transparency is such a big thing in so many elements of society now, so I find it odd that Dominion has never updated their website to list Dr. Roura as part of their team, and more importantly, give his training just like they have done for the REs in the practice. Dr. Waud left the practice a month ago. They took her off the website, and they removed NC-IVF as a treatment option from their website after they cancelled that, so why wouldn't they add Dr. Roura?
Has Dr. Roura done any of your procedures? I don't know if he does either retrievals and embryo transfers, but those are the two things I would NOT want a provider who is not fertility fellowship trained to be doing. Especially, like you said, for how much it costs.

He joined the practice sometime in the spring or summer of 2021. He did one of my IUIs a few months after he started, and I had him for monitoring in a later cycle. For the IUI, he told us that it likely wouldn't work and we could consider canceling (despite the fact I was already undressed and ready to go...), then it worked but we lost the pregnancy. Honestly, the IUI I had where he did it was more comfortable than either of the ones I had where either of the female REs did them.

I searched for his qualifications before my IVF cycle started and couldn't find anything, so I specifically asked my RE (Dr. Kay). She confirmed what I was suspecting, which is that he has not completed formal fellowship training in reproductive endocrinology and infertility. He is an OBGYN but he's not an RE. Dr. Kay said that they trained him at the practice, though I'm not totally sure what that means because that's not how medical care typically works in the US.

Has anyone had Dr. Roura-Monllor at Dominion for procedures? Seems to be new to the practice and no reviews online.
