That being said, I recently renewed and got a new card automatically. You can also request a "replacement" but it costs ($10) or so. Log in to your account to request it.

Was the Global Entry card with the new expiration date on it mailed to you? Did it still have the old picture?

Not that PP, but I did a renewal recently, which was approved without needing a new interview, and yes, the card with the new expiration date, and old picture, arrived about 10 days later.

Good to know, thank you. Our renewals were approved this week (very quickly after we applied), so we will watch the mail for new cards.

I would request new ones. Yes, ideal for land borders, but also for the St Thomas airport. I'm sure it has many other uses too.

OP here. My husband’s and my passports are up-to-date, but our son just got his renewed. I was going to update his Global Entry info with his new passport number, which was what sparked this question!

We renewed our Global Entry membership online in early 2020, but with everything that happened soon after, it slipped my mind that we didn’t get updated cards. The cards have a 2020 expiration date on them. I can’t find anything about this on the Trusted Traveler website. Do we need to get new cards?
