If your MSer is your oldest, then you haven't yet experienced the Honors designation, which is a pretty meaningless designation for a lot of courses on the HS transcript. When you get to HS, there are AP courses (which are generally very challenging), Honors (which are essentially on grade level) and regular (which are kind of remedial except in a couple of subjects like pre-calculus).

Don't be thrown off by the Honors designation. If your kid is ready for Spanish 3 in 8th grade, then most likely the vast majority of courses they will eventually take in HS will be Honors designated.

Because it's not a graduation credit requirement. Students need two FL credits. WL3 is above what is needed to graduate.

Why is 3 considered Honors? Isn't it just the next step after the second year?
