Quiznos was better than Subway because everything is better than Subway. My company moved into a brand new office building and Quiznos was the closest thing to grab for lunch that wasn’t a fancy sit down restaurant. But it was never more than just OK. Apparently the company treated their franchisees horribly.

I haven’t eaten at Quiznos since I last ate at that little subterranean one at Federal Triangle. The meat wasn’t great quality but I hadn’t learned to cook for myself yet so. Still, great memories!

Quiznos beats the pants off of Subway any day. I miss having them around.

I think they went into bankruptcy protection at some point due to overexpansion? I used to go to the one downtown near Farragut north and it was grim, clearly on last legs. But still a good sandwich

It’s dumb but I think when Subway bought their own high speed toaster that ended Quiznos big selling point

I worked at Quiznos back in 2002 when I was in HS - it was one of my first jobs.

People complained all the time at how expensive we were compared to the Subway on the same block. I inwardly rolled my eyes because who was forcing them to come to us then?

The food was good but our location was a hot mess as the franchisee had hired all HS students or pothead 20 year olds to run it. They had their friends come in all of the time and gave them free food. I was really annoyed because one day the owner scolded me for ten minutes for not weighing out the cheese for a sandwhich "This is why our inventory is always coming up short!" and I wanted to be like dude, all of the thieves you hired is the reason why we are always short, not because I don't weigh the cheese for every sandwhich.

I loved Quiznos too. I hate Subway.

Had over 4000 in 2007. I know they were never great but surprised they have fared so much worse than Subway.
