3) I didn't, but then my daughter started saying it (I think she saw families at the school drop off and started emulating).

Now I make it a point to tell DD that when I drop her off. I'm still working on saying it to my husband. He knows I love him, but the words are hard for me to say for some reason.

1. My mom did constantly while we were growing up and the older women relatives. Now my dad is elderly and he says it frequently to us and the grandkids.
2. DH and I do sometimes to each other but we are not overly affectionate people. We love each other but are not constantly saying it.
3. I tell my kids I love them every day when they leave for school or if I leave before them. I say it every night before bed as I’m passing their rooms since I often go to bed first. They both say it back and are teens, one boy and one girl.

My mother said this to me every night when I was growing up, and whenever I saw her once I was an adult, and on phone calls. (my dad died when I was young, hence I'm mentioning just my mother)

My spouse and I don't say it every single day now that I think of it. That's fine. Been married 30 years and love each other very much.

I tell our college age DC this almost every day -- we text most days at least a brief goodnight with "I love you." DC reciprocates.

My late brother and I were very different people; we didn't fight, we just had little in common and saw little of each other. We never said it to each other as kids/teens/young adults. But in recent years after our mom died, we became closer and had fun together, and ended conversations on the phone or goodbyes in person with "Love you." I'm glad for that, because he died very unexpectedly two years ago.

1) Yes, but it started when my older sister moved out of house. She would phone home and end calls with it. It was weird at first then normal. So normal that my parents, sister, and me said it and meant it all the time.

We didn’t say it often growing up (and I still don’t with my parents), but we have a strong relationship and I always knew (and know) how much they love me.

Spouse and I say it all the time to each other and to the kids (and mean it).

I don't really recall my parents saying it to me, they said it to each other pretty often.

My spouse and I say it to each other all the time, as in many times a day and always whenever either one of us leaves the house. The same for our DD who reciprocates pretty often as well, but she's also five.
