I remember dumping my boyfriend around the same age; I was making significantly less than he was, paying student loans, and working quite a lot. He was living with mom and dad and complaining they were making him pay his own phone bill, at age 25. I couldn't take it anymore and started dating a guy who wasn't dependent on his parents.

He's 25, he needs to stand on his own two feet and not cry to mommy about a breakup. Any guy making over 100k at age 25 has girlfriend options, especially outside of DC proper.

Maybe she thinks he is spoiled and wants someone who stands on his own feet. I cannot imagine any of my 25 year old exes crying to their moms about it.

I wouldn't frame it in terms of revenge. His next relationship will hopefully be with someone who is a better fit for him, and that person deserves better than to be "payback" to his ex.

I would tell him that her priorities are out of whack and she did him a favor by getting out of his life.
