Yeah, I always try to do something personalized for second kids for this reason. Someone gifted our second a PB stroller blanket with his name on it, and he still sleeps with it 8 years later.

I have two DDs, and I love this idea.
Our girls are 4 years apart. Our second was born just after the pandemic started, so we were pretty locked down. Several friends sent us a cute stuffy, a big sister superhero cape and shirt for older DD, a few new board books, and some home delivery meals. We didn’t need anything since we had saved all of older DD’s baby items, but it was nice for younger DD to have a few things that are just hers!

we got monogrammed towels for both kids - actually super useful because we only had so many kid size towels before so something we actually needed more of with the second kid.

What about two stuffed animals of the same species? Like matching sister dinosaurs. One for first born and one for the baby.

I would vote NOT a blanket though. I am swimming in blankets and you really only need two per kid tops. Hat, socks (baby socks get lost so easily), cute outfit would be better imo.

I do Amazon/target gift card for diapers or odds and ends. Plus something personalized to baby if I know name - the kid will get all hand me downs so it’s nice to have something just for baby.

I would just buy something for the older child. Baby will get it eventually and probably does not need much.

I'm an entirely different generation, and I don't know what parents use these days. Same gender.
