This! Oatmeal sets me off! Those servings sizes do not compute for me at all.

The whole world eats carbs. You can have a small serving of carbs with your meals. You’ll be fine.

No reason to cut COMPLEX carbs. Otherwise good luck with your insulin and inability to lose weight (and fat). I can already tell though that you and I will have to agree to disagree.

I don’t understand what you mean. I have lost 25 pounds and did not eliminate any carbs and still eat pasta, bread, desserts in moderation as well as plenty complex carbs. But my body has no problem processing carbs since I’m not insulin resistant or diabetic.

Carbs are fine. All food is fine in moderation. PP is just a dick.

I find that the carb hunger goes away after a few days, no more than a week. Avoiding carbs for a day creates the huge hunger, but once you get past that, it's no problem at all to maintain.

keep your carbs, just limit it to the first half of the day (no pasta for dinner)

Op here. Thanks for this response. I suppose I could try. Do you have any suggestions other than avocados and nuts? I can keep eating those and makes no dent in my hunger.

Eggs, full fat yogurt, olive oil, salmon and other fatty fish. But do this in conjunction with decreasing your processed carbs.

Cheese. Add more butter in cooking your vegetables. Use more (homemade) dressing on your salads.

Frankly I find whole milk filling, so that works for me, too.

Oddly, when I’m cutting the cereal/grain carbs, I find that adding a small serving of fruit (like 9 grapes or 20 blueberries) to a cheese/nut snack feels better than just the nuts and cheese alone, I just take care to carefully log the carbs.

I’m the same. Protein, fat, vegetables just don’t fill me and I’m starving immediately after eating. My theory is they don’t absorb any water, therefore provide little bulk. Grains soak up liquid and add bulk, making your full.

Don’t cut grains out. There is much research that whole grain and fiber specifically from whole grain provides GI cancer protection and heart benefits that the fiber from vegetables doesn’t provide.

Just make sure you are eating heathy grains: oats, quinoa, sprouted grains, wheat berries, farro, etc.

I really think this comes down to genetics. I am ravenous if I don’t eat carbs. I have tried and it just doesn’t work for me. So I just limit to whole grains. I am of an ethnic background that is vegetarian and eats a lot of rice. I think my body needs carbs.

Does anyone else have this problem? If I try to cut out carbs (bread, rice, pasta), even for a day, I end up eating more than I would have (which results in taking in more calories). Does anyone else experience this? I feel more hungry with no starchy carbs even though I load up on vegetables. Any suggestions?
