After three weekends in a row going to admitted students days across two coasts, we'd chime in that we thought the Oberlin program was really well done. Some of the admitted students days didn't have any experience of a class at all, which seemed crazy, and we definitely supported separating the student from the parents. But we especially appreciated the huge choice of a lot of real student classes at Oberlin, versus the class that admissions did just for a show. There was just a lot of substance to the admitted students days. And we *loved* the evening stuff. DC sat in on an incredibly student-run class.

UC San Diego did a great job. Tour guides posted at all locations, individual residential colleges each hosted their own booths/info fairs, and it seemed like nearly all the student orgs were represented along the main walk.

Almost too much to experience in one day. In contrast, UMD’s event was all virtual as far as I can tell.

U Denver let kids sit in on sample classes, which was extremely useful to DS. Of all the events, we felt like we got the most information out of that one.

Loved Lafayette College's admitted student day. It was on a Sunday and, among other things, they brought in several of their top professors to teach special classes.

CU Boulder was really nice and really normal. Not a mask in sight.

My DC has a CLASS that Oberlin offers to all admitted students. It meets every Tuesday evening for two hours. It's an interdisciplinary look at climate change. The first hour is a very engaging lecture with a different professor from a different department each week, and the second hour is a small group discussion facilitated by a college senior and covers the reading, but also let's the students talk with each other. The course is free and is two credit hours if you end up going to Oberlin. It's been awesome as our DS is getting rid of pre-college jitters, the class is interesting, and he is excited every Tuesday. It's been interesting for us because Oberlin was one of three schools that DS was truly viewing as of equal interest, but now he only talks about Oberlin and this class. He hasn't made a final decision (and we haven't either as we will have to sign off), and things could change, but it's looking like Oberlin. And if so, he world go in with some added confidence.

JMU's admitted students' day (Choices) was fantastic. Extremely well-organized and thorough. We had a chance to go to each major presentation DC was interested in, plus a study abroad session, dorm tours, and lunch in one of the dining halls. Fun, informative day. Still deciding!
