OP here with a follow-up:

* Famous Pizza: great Greek salad. Normal (and tasty) pizza
* Island Creamery: delicious Ice Cream (and very clean!)
* Pico Taqueria: loved the vibe and food
* SeaStar Cafe: great crunchy vibe. Long wait to place order, but food was fast after that. Lovely spot and yummy food
* Bill's: Great homey seafood and g&ts! Definitely mom and pop, but reminds me of home
* Etta's: Yummy seafood. Likewise - mom and pop, but good seafood and service
* Amarin: delicious coffee and pastries!

AJ's smells. The only decent option is Bill's. Someone needs to open a place, there is demand.

Bill’s Prime Seafood. This is the “steak house” I recommended upthread. Make a reservation. It’s really good and they will indeed fill up.

I second the Steamer’s recommendation. Also I really like the orange version of their souvenir t shirts.

Go on a boat ride that takes you past the Chincoteague ponies. Maybe bike over the bridge to Assateague. Try to hit all 3 home-made ice cream stores. If it’s really just two, then hit Island Creamery twice.

I love Chincoteague.

But I hate their restaurant, Maria’s.

Wait, is there at least a good seafood shack?

Chincoteague has no good food, except for Island Creamery which is amazing.

A lot of their restaurants are actually food trucks. We like Lily's Mexican. Famous pizza has surprisingly good pizza. Steamers for seafood. Island creamery for ice cream.

We liked Pico Taqueria.

There’s a single steak restaurant. Make a reservation for it. It sells out.

I love Chincoteague.

No reservations (or great food). Everything is mom and pop type stuff

Suggestions for tasty restaurants, especially with local seafood? I’ll be traveling with 2 kids. Do we need reservations (not sure how crowded places will get, especially on Memorial Day weekend).
