Concussion. I would rest and stay off screens for a good while. The symptoms set in slowly, you may be worse tomorrow than today. It’s the inflammation in your brain. You don’t want to strain the brain while it’s healing.

Google NAC for post concussion. If you take it in the first 24 hours it has been proven to greatly decrease post concussion syndrome.

No time to be macho (and I get that you are female).

Good you did not lose consciousness.

Because of the fatigue, I would be seen by a physician whether at urgent care or ER.

Thanks for the advice.

DH is also with me, watching our 2 and 4-year-olds. We took my mom to lunch and a stroll in the park before taking her home.

My neck is sore but walking felt fine. Pupils look normal. I’m very tired but I blame my kids for that.

Thanks!

OP, the fatigue really could be concussion related. If you rest well today and tomorrow, you have a chance to head off possible complications that could turn this into a long recovery. Just eat well and drink well and avoid physical strain, mental strain... and compuer/phone screens. It really is worth this investment of a couple of days to help avoid symptoms that take a lot longer to resolve.

To be safe you can always go to the ED for a work up

I've had concussions and strongly urge you to head to urgent care or an emergency room. You will be ok but need some instructions about how to take care of yourself while you heal and a plan for which doctor(s) to follow up with in the meantime.

Maybe get checked out at urgent care

The scalp bleeds really easily so I wouldn’t worry too much about that unless you think you need stitches. The neck pain is probably because it absorb the shock of the hit or you might have minor whiplash when you fell into the bushes. Back of head could have been because of the fall. The legs seem odd.

I would probably have someone monitor me over the next few hours. If you start to have any confusion/change in pupils/sleepyiness, call 911 immediately.

If there's any chance of a concussion, consider ER. Did you faint? If yes, go to ER.

I concussed myself and didn't seek medical attention for a week. Bad mistake. The concussion fog lasted 6 weeks!

Google head injury and when to get care. Concussion protocol.
Pupils equal? Any headache/dizziness/nausea? Any concerns just get checked.

I was climbing into the back of our van so my mother could have the front seat and hit my head really hard on the roof as I climbed in. I never made it in - I fell backwards and landed on our flowers.

The top of my head is bleeding a little and the back of my head hurts too, for some reason, and my neck.

I can turn my head just fine. I can walk but my legs feel like jello. My vision is normal.

Do I need to get checked out or can I walk or sleep it off? Anything I should watch for?

Well…definitely don’t “sleep it off”. Do you feel sleepy? Are your pupils dilating/contracting normally? Do you have someone to take care of you other than your mom?
