Every school, public or private, manages to make their Instagram look good.

Yes, we could learn how easy it is to teach kids who come to school ready to learn. We could learn how easy it is to work with kids who read at home, who aren't hungry, who go to museums and who have parents who talk to them. We could learn how easy it is to differentiate when you only have 15 kids in a class and all the supplies you need. We could learn how easy it is to not have kids with major behavioral or learning issues.

I mean, come on. It is easy to score home runs when you start life on third base.

Sure, class sizes of 15 and restricting entry only to those who they think will succeed leads to success.

If public school did that our taxes would be 3x as expensive and we'd be paying for 9870398475 lawsuits.

Can you imagine how much publics can learn about getting to choose the kids for each class and grade level? Oh, and being able to counsel students out? And not taking mandatory testing.

Yes, they could learn a ton!

Of course it looks idyllic. With the right PR firm and a good photographer, you can make anything look and sound good. Its probably a very good school but it really depends on the child and their needs.

Yes. Cut at least 1/4 of public school administration and staff. Reduce bureaucracy that is only self serving

No. Parents could learn something from both though

It all starts at home. Schools/teachers can’t do everything, and burn out when expected to.

I’d rather private schools learn something from public schools. It’s harder to make everything idyllic when you have to accept everyone.

I went to “bad” public schools, but looking at the NCS Instagram page, it just looks so idyllic. The nature activities, arts etc.
