I’m a middle aged creative professional, as are most of my friends and acquaintances. None of us has had a traditional lasting relationship. Most of us are loners and suffer from chronic depression.

How often is a couple every in the same home? If one or both is a musician or actor, they are off on tour or filming. Very few are sitting down to watch Wheel of Fortune every night together.
They are also surrounded by all sorts of interesting, attractive people constantly. So the second they feel distant with their spouse, someone else will come along at that time that they gel with. And there you go.
