You must be someone in MCPS central office who is worried because Ms. Peetz has been getting interesting information and story leads by cultivating various sources in different ways, including via social media posts. You know, kinda like a journalist. But that's clearly not your line of work.
No, far from. Just a parent who gets sick of her making repeated requests to join or group.
She just wants to expand her audience as much as possible. Her work is first-rate and hard hitting. If you don't like it, you can ignore and refrain from commenting?

Ok, glad you think so. Her work is fine but she is intrusive when not welcome.

Caitlynn Peetz, senior reporter for Bethesda Beat here. Just popping in to drop a plug for the Beat's new(ish) weekly newsletter focused on MCPS and Montgomery County education. I author this newsletter that we launched in February, and every week I pick a topic to dive into a bit. So far, we've done some MCPS history, policy issues, hot topics of the week, etc. This section has exclusive analysis, insight or perspectives that you won't find elsewhere, including our regular coverage.
We solicit reader questions to answer, curate the top education stories of the week and have a section where I drop links to resources, and interesting articles and research studies I'm reading.
I know everyone who comes to this blog is invested and interested in the county's public schools, so I think this resource would be beneficial to you.
About 3,000 people have subscribed so far and I'm super grateful to everyone who has. If you haven't yet, here's a link to this week's newsletter so you can take a look: https://mailchi.mp/bethesdamagazine/school-notes-041422?e=04f98dd010
(We didn't do the reader question section this week, but here's an example of what that version looks like: https://mailchi.mp/bethesdamagazine/school-notes-040722?e=7d55b69392)
Subscribing is free, so if you're interested, you can go to this link: https://bethesdamagazine.com/subscribe-to-our-education-newsletter/
Newsletter hits inboxes at 6 a.m. on Thursdays. Hope to "see" you then!
With gratitude,
Caitlynn Peetz
