Luc in French or italian would be pronounced Luke, but even I looked at Luc and said "Luck". It will be a lifetime of correcting people

Either but spell the nickname Luke if that's how you want it to be pronounced. I, an American with no knowledge of Italian, would pronounce Luc as Luck. Not sure how you want it pronounced. I think Luca nn Luke would be fine for an Italian-American kid.

We’re down to these two completely interchangeable names and can’t decide. We have an Italian last name (three syllables) but are definitely American.
