More people have heard of both more than Caltech yet which school is more prestigious. More people have heard of u Alabama yet which schools are better. Also the acceptance rate difference means Emory is more popular

All that matters is which has passed the other for your student. Both are fine college but different enough to make the choice about which will better serve a particular individual.

Emory is ranked higher on most rankings (USNews WSJ etc) it's acceptance rate is now lower as well (10.6> 12). We also can mention endowment but that might not be fair.
