+1 What OP is complaining about isn’t COVID related. There needs to be one dedicated person doing sign in and someone else can speak with parents that have questions.

I mean, some people have jobs they have to get to. You do understand the purpose of daycare right? So yeah-standing in line for a variable amount of time every morning is a pretty significant inconvenience.

Op here. There is a computer system you have to sign your child into and there is only one. And then yes-you can now take your kid to their classroom. There would be no issue if it just involved walking in to the school. It's the sign in that's the issue.

Confused about what the alternative is - could OP go straight to the classroom? Or does she have to drop off in the foyer too?

Btw what kind of monster has a long convo with teachers at drop off while other parents are waiting behind so they can get to work? Why do the teachers allow this?

I think the commenters are underestimating starting drama with people you see all the time and/or the families then complaining about you "cutting in front of them". Like who needs the extra stress?

Why not? Say 'good morning, excuse me' and walk around them. It's their choice to wait around outside. If they say something, just remind them that the rules have lifted and that you need to get to work.

Sure you can. Go get your kid and they can keep waiting if they want.

Parents in DC pare extremely COVID cautious. Covid isn’t going anywhere. If you’re living in the DC area you’ll need to put up with these practices for years. In fact, possible forever.
