A president telling lies either matters or it doesn't. Pick a side that isn't tied to which president is talking.

Personally, I think the reasoning that Trump did something so therefore we can't call out that thing in this administration is wrongheaded and dangerous.

This entire thread is stupid, simply. Biden, in the quote, acknowledges that the mileage may not be fact. His entire point, of course, is that he has spent considerable time with Xi Jinping, even on planes.

Repeating the same lie over and over is small potatoes?

Biden has been a prolific liar throughout his career, it’s just getting more attention now. Funny how people just shrug off the fact that he’s fundamentally dishonest.

The thing is that Trump taught us all that it’s entirely irrelevant. The Democrats have learned from the master liar, Trump. So who cares. Nothing Biden lies about approaches Trump lies.

Isn’t this whataboutism?

You gave Trump a pass but you chose to pick on Biden. You have no credibility.

I did not give Trump a pass. I call out Presidential lies/omissions/misstatements/bad faith whenever I see it.

The people complaining about Biden said nothing when Trump lied tens of thousands of times including inciting a mob to storm the Capitol, so I can’t imagine them caring about this.

Right, and the people who don’t care about Biden’s latest complained loudly about every time Trump lied or misspoke. The hypocrisy goes both ways. It is exhausting and unproductive.

it is not even one Pinocchio

In February, 2021, it was 3 Pinocchios.

But numbers are numbers. Biden is using a figure that cannot be verified in a misleading way. He correctly notes he spent hours in private talks with Xi, including outside the capital cities, on different occasions. Those are substantial bragging rights — which makes his apparent need to gild the lily with an invented figure so puzzling.

The president earns Three Pinocchios.

Yeah, OP, I don't think most people here are going to be outraged about this coming after 4 years of Trump's non-stop lies. If you are so outraged by presidential lies, I love to see an analysis of Trump vs Biden's lies while in office.

Even the WaPo has previously called out Biden for this lie - and he’s told it several times before! WTF is he talking about?

https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2021/02/19/bidens-repeated-claim-hes-traveled-17000-miles-with-xi-jinping/

He did it AGAIN in his speech with KBJ and Kamala Harris today.

“And, folks — (applause) — let me close with what I’ve long said: America is a nation that can be defined in a single word. I was in the foothi- — foot- — excuse me, in the foothills of the Himalayas with Xi Jinping, traveling with him. (Inaudible) traveled 17,000 miles when I was Vice President at the time. I don’t know that for a fact.”
