I love how these school districts claim there's no money in the budget to pay bus drivers, cafeteria workers, paras, and subs a decent wage but they can easily justify a 6 figure salary that has no direct role in working with students and has not been demonstrated to help improve access for any of the students who need it most.

Agreed. We have Directors of Equity, Chiefs of Equity, Coordinators of Equity, Specialists in Equity. I’m not sure how it’s justifiable. Enough.

I like no homework, and I like holidays, but I don’t like the idea of this position. It’s redundant. Smaller class sizes would enable equity at the most important level, I’d think.

Equitable means everybody stay home so nobody gets sick.

It’s frustrating. Equitable means everyone should get a decent education. How many chiefs does it take for them to figure out they need more teachers?

How inequitable is APS? Is there a scorecard or something?

APS is hiring for yet another six figure, non-student facing, central office position in the name of equity. With class sizes as large as they are, this is not right. They need to kill this position, make do with the equity staff they already have, and hire a teacher or two instead.
