I had a really horrible experience it's cost a lot. I went to Great length to help them get extra funding from the city, and they did allow my child to participate on a scholarship during the school year as well as during part of the summer. I have a lot of health problems and I happen to be late on just a handful of occasions. Also to include the last day of school which is today! I was just told that because I was 15 minutes late my child is no longer welcome to participate in any of their programs. However if I have a doctor's letter stating all of my medical problems then they would be willing to reconsider. I just found this to be extremely strange and I've never had to present medical documentation like this in my entire life! I'm 47 years old and I feel like these people treat me like I'm about 12. Even though their programs are supposed to be immersive, my daughter has learned absolutely no Spanish and I speak Spanish fluently and she refuses to speak any at home. I am not happy, and I'm so certainly glad that I did not pay an arm and a leg to send my kid to this program because it's simply not worth it.

Casa LaLa did not impress me when we dropped our 3yo off for two days last fall. Our 6yo started going when he was 5, so I’d never seen the other campus. It was a cramped space and packed with kids. So different from the bright space on Taylor. And my kid hated his time there. I’d find out more about what your 4yo would be doing. I will not send my younger kid there until he is 5 and can go on field trips all the time.

SWS camp is fine. My older kid has been for school closure days, week long breaks, and a week last summer. They learned a little routine and played a bunch. It’s definitely not my top choice for summer camps these days, but that’s bc of the price. YMCA is like half the cost, so we are sticking with that this year.

My now 8 year old has done both. I believe 4 year olds stay on-site the entire week with Casa Lala. The main appeal of CL is the daily field trips, so I would lean to SWS for a preschooler who loves to dance.

I’m a bit biased to Casa Lala because I have been going there since 2017, It’s great vibes. And the founder Ms. Lala has always gifted me a present on my birthday every year with her

My kids have done both and both were great. CASA LALA is definitely less structured and a bit chaotic but they are good about getting the kids outside and the kids love it. My kids also love Salsa with Silvia and I thought they also did a good job getting the kids out. The large dance space is really nice to have on rainy/ super hot days so they can still get some exercise.

I would go for the convenience...

Anyone have experience with summer camp at one/both? My son is 4; shy but super active. I've been meaning to sign him up for a dance class since he loves to dance at home.

We got off the wait list at Salsa with Silvia, and I'm wondering whether to take a spot there rather than La Casa Lala. SWS is more convenient. LCL seems chaotic but I like that they spend a lot of time outside (based on day camp).
