Well I won’t disregard other’s reviews of her, and I wasn’t very happy with her response rates either. But here are some factual observations I had during my DC’s 1.5 years there. There was no change in directors the entire time we were there (possibly during the beginning of COVID but I have no idea, there was turnover everywhere at that time). Only heard about the one that left very recently from current parents, and IMO she had major attitude problems. I highly doubt the owner is racist since the other director still there is of the same race as the one who just left, and the one still there is awesome and loved by everyone. Also, the owner was always on-site and works til late. When we toured the school on a weekend or holiday, I can’t remember anymore but the school was closed, the owner was the one that gave us the tour so apparently she regularly works weekends or holidays.

More importantly, and back to the point of the thread, yeah responsiveness is something the school can work on. But once there, DC was happy and learned a lot.

Respectfully, this is almost entirely untrue. There has been no less than 5 directors that have left since the school opened and in the last 2 years, when you were supposedly there, there has been 3 directors that have left. This location has not been open very long. They have only been open 4 years. The director prior to the most recent director that left had openly accused the owner of being racist. The only director that has been consistent is the assistant director and she was implanted there by the owners partner’s school in Rockville because she couldn’t keep a director due to her attitude and difficult management style. This has resulted in staff and family turnover as well. When you look at the reviews for the school on Google, you see many negative reviews about the school. She obviously had an integrity issue because she responds by saying that they don’t have record of this family being at the school to infer that the review is bogus. If that were so, wouldn’t at least one review be removed? Goddard Schools in general are quality preschools, but this location is lacking.

The owner definitely did not go on vacation all the time, she actually works an insane amount and at the craziest hours as you’ll see updates from her on the school’s parent app during the evenings pretty regularly. There was a front office staff who I heard from parent friends whose children are still there, who just left. Was not a fan of her. But to be fair, I think the non-responsiveness equally applies to everyone at the front office including the owner. I just don’t think the owner was lazy or always on vacation, quite the opposite.

She is onsite almost everyday.

This must be the owner of Tyson’s Goddard. Simply go to their Google reviews and you will get a sense of how this place is poorly managed.

It is still excellent. They were extremely responsive to me when we were interested in coming. it was very organized. I am not sure what is happening, maybe a waitlist, but it is a great school.

We transferred to Goddard from another school and so far it has been amazing.

Celebree School and Tysons Corner Children Center are also in Tysons. Goddard does have a reputation for not being so responsive.

DC used to go there. Unfortunately, I’m not surprised to hear their front office is not responsive at all. Expect the theme to be recurring if you enroll there. But their teachers were fantastic and the overall experience for DC had been very positive.

Has anyone been able to get a hold of this school? My husband and I have tried repeatedly to reach them about enrollment and we have never received a call back or an email back. Maybe they have a big waitlist? But either way, it would be nice to receive a response and we weren't even looking for care until 2023 as we do not live in the area yet but will be there this summer.
