Thank you everyone! I’m a little afraid to drill into a pot that’s so old (sentimental value), but maybe I’ll practice on a cheapie first.

I am not terribly handy but drilled small holes in similar pots I had. Success! It was very easy…I did it slowly and used increasing sizes of drill bits to slightly enlarge the holes. Try it!

You can half-fill with rocks, then soil, and grow succulents in them. But I’d just punch drainage holes!

I inherited several antique flower pots or planters that don’t have drainage holes. They are all roughly 6 inches across and 4 inches high. So too small to just drop in a plant in a plastic nursery pot with holes. What do people do with these planters? Does anything grow directly in them?
