AGAIN, OP is free to move. No one is holding her hostage to one neighborhood. D.C. is big enough for any person to find the exact amenities that they want or need.....it only comes down to socioeconomics. Can OP's budget afford her expensive desires & tastes? If so, then the lack amenities that she is complaining about would be null because economically she could outsource or get her needs fulfilled elsewhere without much complaint.

OP, it seems Howard has plans in the works. As you know the entire world was dealing with COVID and there have been supply shortages which I gather have also affected the construction sector. If you live in the Howard neighborhood you are free to move if its too dumpy for you.

Yes. A lot of that land is owned my Howard and they are a mess when it comes to managing or leveraging their assets. It’s been at least ten years since their first proposal for a “town center” concept was proposed to the District. With the opening of Whole Foods and new housing, you should see more movement on the big parcels and that will in turn influence the smaller one. Most retail leases are 10 years so it’s always slow to turn over.

Georgia Avenue around Howard looks like a dump. This is in sharp contrast to the late 90s, early 2000s. The shops were closed pre covid, are there plans to revitalize the area?
