Oakland. Doesn’t get that cold and probably highest per capita lesbian in the country, lots of racial diversity.

I am a 54 yr old lesbian in DC, and I can confirm that your friend is correct about the dating scene in DC. Its a hot mess, and the community is super small. HELL, I probably know her🤣

It's exhausting watching women in their 40's and 50's, still acting like they're in their 20's.

Damn, now I won’t send her this thread. What is that even supposed to mean?

What on earth are you talking about?
I’m on the lesbian scene in DC and there’s no relative shortage of women in that age group, though I can totally see how she’s tired of seeing the same people year after year. It does suck, but that’s kind of true for any lesbian not in their 20s.

The US city with the highest gay population is New York with an estimated 272,493 gay residents. Los Angeles is second with 154,270, followed by Chicago with 114,449 and San Francisco with 94,234.

Did you ask this somewhere else? I feel like I answered already. +1 for Atlanta-very diverse, big queer scene. I don't know if your friend has any financial constraints, but I feel like Atlanta is more diverse and affordable than many gay enclaves.

Los Angeles—vibrant city, extremely diverse, lots of LGBTQ+ people, in a progressive state

One of my close friends is 53, single (lesbian POC) and has lived in DC for 22 years. She's looking for a big change, and can move anywhere in the U.S. with her job. She's doesn't want to move anywhere very cold (which would rule out Boston, Chicago, etc.). She's sick of the DC singles scene and feels like she knows every lesbian person of color her age and just feels sort of generally stuck. She'd love to find the lov of her life, but she wants to find a place that is new and exciting, diverse, where she can find real community and a home outside of DC.

I told her I'd help her do a little research. Help me out?
