Our school, The Montessori School of Chevy Chase, gives the parents the choice. They can either wear a mask or not. I would say it seems to be 50/50 for now.

It’s ridiculous with numbers so low that parents can’t let go of these masks.

Going masks optional doesn’t mean they can’t still mask their kids. Most of the parents at our daycare are still masking their kids but I don’t know if any who have left over the policy change.

You are the director, make the change. It’s ridiculous keeping the façade up when they spend hours together unmasked.

I don't get it.

And eating together, at ours 3 times between breakfast, lunch and snacks. And they’re all sitting together, it’s not like they are spaced out across the room. I really question how so many smart people are convinced masks in this setting are effective and developmentally appropriate.

It’s such a show at this point. Our Arlington preschool is still requiring them
Indoors. Optional outdoors. Not sure what the point is. They said they would reevaluate after spring break but parents are not hopeful.

At Bambini kids don’t have to wear them but teachers do. This could change if cases go up again.

Even where masks are not required, a lot of kids/teachers are still wearing them anyway. So I would t let mask-optional deter you.

CentroNia is though with a phase out plan to remove them May 15 unless cases go up 🙄

Which preschools in the district are still requiring masks? I know DCPS is not, but looking to find out info on private and charters.

Thanks!
