I understand how you feel and being small frame also, I find that it's super easy to gain weight and what might seem a relatively small amount (five pounds or so) to other people makes me feel "fat" and my clothes don't fit.
But please don't feel awful that your weight is higher than in the past. You are older and have had two children, so your comfortable weight might need to be a bit higher than it was in the past.
As for advice, if you are caving in and snacking later in the day, this can happen because you are legitimately hungry if you are not eating enough filling, nutrient rich foods earlier in the day. Try to focus on whole, unprocessed foods.
