Most Chanel bags scream “old lady” to me. My grandma and other octogenarians look lovely with them, but young women look like desperate try yards who care too much about logos/luxury brands when I see them.

A long time ago. Definitely not anymore. It may not be fashionable but I wouldn’t say it’s aggressively unfashionable, either. It can be a good brand for a middle aged woman who wants something well made and reasonably priced.

Gen X’ers like me realize that KS is classic, cute, and affordable. I have zero interest in dropping $1-2k for the bags many dcumers love even though I could afford it. I have tons of bags from all over the world, and I typically prefer brands nobody has ever heard of. Yet I still carry my KS bags. Classic.

I am 42 and love my kate spade bags. They hold up well and come in all sorts of colors. I guess I just don't care if they're out of fashion.

If you like it, fine. But yes, Kate Spade is on par with Coach and considered out of fashion. Particularly for an older woman.

Agree with PP that this stuff matters less now. There was a time when Kate Spade screamed "I'm in my 20s, shop at the mall, and hope to get married in the next 2-3 years." But that was 20 years ago. Now it's a brand for middle aged women who want a cute purse that doesn't cost a billion dollars. And sometimes their colors and patterns are so great. I find the theme-y stuff to be way too much (a bag with Eiffel towers or a face with sunglasses is a bit much for me) but their florals and bright solids can be really pretty. The wallet I carry when I travel is Kate Spade and it's very good quality (lasted me 10+ years) and I love the lining.

It’s cute. Wear it if you like it. I feel like I outgrew Kate Spade about 15 years ago when it became the norm for 20 something’s but maybe it’s coming back now that the 20s have moved on to other brands.

I have a Kate Spade crossbody but I don’t usually wear purses with an obvious name on it. I bought it off of FabFitFun and I’m just not sure about it. I’m 52 and don’t know if this is kind of too trendy or even past trendy. It’s similar to this one.
