I'm 5'6 and 117lbs and I'm a 2 in theory(can also wear 0 but I don't like it so tight). It's definitely made for boyish builds which is mine.

I just discovered I am a perfect Theory 4. I am 5 ft 9in, 120 lbs, narrow shoulders, 32 DD, straightish waist, slightly pear, hips 37 inches. In case that helps you.

I’m 5’2 and 125. I wear a lot of Theory and actually think they run large. I’m always a 2 in their pants (and often have to take them in). In their tops I’m usually S or P but I wear a 4 in their suit jackets. OP - With your height and weight, I would think a size 4 would make sense but I guess it all depends on body shape. Im kind of straight up and down.

Theory fits me well. I'm 5 feet 5 inches and about 130 pounds. Smallish frame, narrow shoulders, slightly larger bust and a long torso; height weight proportional. I usually wear a size 4-6 in everything Theory. Their pants are really good for me. On the other hand, I can't wear Hugo Boss and everything hangs and is too boxy for me.

Nicole Miller or DVF dresses may fit your silhouette better. i'm short and curvy (size 2-6 depending on the week of the month and brand) and have better luck with these brands. I want to love Theory so badly, but the fit is TERRIBLE on me.

Yeah you are probably a 4 or a 6 at Theory then. But just keep looking, I always see lots of their stuff on consignment sites. What's the specific dress you are looking at? I bet we can find it in a 4 or a 6.

A theory 4 is equivalent to Jcrew 0 or 2. I would do size 4 or maybe size 6 in theory based on your shape.

It tends to run small (depends a bit on the fabric and if it has any stretch). However, your size is very small -- I would think you'd fit into fit into an XS or size 2 unless you are curvy. That's where the "runs small" comes in -- they cut things narrow and straight. If you have broad shoulders, a C cup or larger, or a larger waist-to-hip ratio, I'd size up to a 4 or a 6 and expect to have to take it in.

I'm shopping for a cocktail dress and am trying ThredUp.

I'm can be a size 2 or 4 or a small and extra small. It depends on the brand.

There's a Theory dress that I really like. Does Theory run small in dresses?

I'm 5' and weigh 115.
