OP, I've been working with the Kimpton Monaco on a conference for this summer and have really liked that hotel. IMO, the Grand American is not worth it for 2 days. It's massive and you will get lost in the hotel.

I recently rented a car with Turo, had a great experience. The guy brought the car to the curb at the airport and then we left it in the Economy lot.

SLC airport is well known for disastrous car rental counters with very long wait times.

Book a car rental asap if you need one. Utah has the highest car rental prices of all 50 states.

We will be in Salt Lake City for a full day, 2 nights in august with our kids ages 8 and 11 before heading to Yellowstone. I’m looking for hotel, restaurant and activity recs. Would like a hotel that is walkable to dining and activities. Is the grand American hotel worth it? We have Marriott bonvoy points so am also looking at the Spring Hill suites downtown.
