In theory no - but even if your kid has met the standard, the test is subjective enough that they can simply tell you the kid didn't pass if there is not enough room.

There are no slots, this isn't private school but if you wait, make sure you have a back up plan.

Thanks! Definitely understand that part. What confused me was the school said you can apply any time and they’ll schedule an assessment soon after, but I can’t see the benefit of doing it early (instead of giving child a few more months to mature). School didn’t seem to understand my question when I asked if slots fill up, so I feel like I’m missing something.

It doesn't fill up but it may depend on enrollment. It is very subjective by school and principal.

Understanding of course that a child has to pass the school’s assessment, is admission to early entrance kindergarten at all “first come first serve”? Meaning is there any benefit to applying now vs waiting until later in the spring/summer? Does it fill up? Thanks!
