I went to a very highly ranked SLAC and lived off campus both junior and senior year. One semester sophomore year was abroad, so I lived off campus for more semesters than I lived on campus.

My Slac realized it was losing money so now requires three years in dorms and food plan. You can only move off senior year.

Does living off campus generally save money? I had friends in college who did it, but rent + utilities + furniture + parking seemed to be just as expensive or moreso and way less convenient.

I attended a discussion last month led by the CFO of my DC's "Top 20" SLAC and they said that they intently watch their peers in finalizing annual pricing.

Most expensive: Uchicago
Least expensive: Rice

My kid received pretty satisfactory aid, 'University scholarship', from Notre Dame.
So it's cheaper than UVA Instate (got nothing from UVA).

UC Berkeley tuition (not including inflated freshman dorms) is cheap for instate.

Which top colleges have the highest and the lowest cost of attendance. Yes, I know majority gets financial aid so everyone’s COA is different but what are the numbers for full pay students?
