We started Semillitas mid-COVID and have been very happy there.

You should also look at Jubilee Jumpstart

You should definitely set up visits - you’re not going to learn much from the websites. Lanier Lullabies worked out for us and we have been very happy. Maybe we were just lucky but it wasn’t a long waitlist experience. A lot of staff do speak Spanish but I wouldn’t call it Spanish immersion really. You really need to visit and talk to the owner Julie.
Semelittas is another place to check out.

One downer note: we have a toddler and have been on wait lists at all the daycares you listed for more than a year. My understanding is, with rare exceptions, it's averaging a 2-year wait at many of them, especially for older kids (older than 0-6 month infants.) So it may be less a question of, which daycare is the best as, which daycare is likely to have an open slot before 2024?
Good luck to you.

Our son is in prek now but was at Llave del Mundo from ages 3 mos-3 yrs. They are wonderful-- can't say enough good things. It's a very loving, warm home-based daycare on Biltmore. They go to Walter Pierce or Kalorama most days (or mt pleasant library pre-Covid). I think they have openings now--not sure whether the spaces are for infants or toddlers. Good luck!

I have several friends who used Lanier Lullabies and loved it. I checked them out too and even put in a deposit. I went in being very averse to daycare and really liked it. I think the owner, Julie, does a very good job and hires good people. No actual personal experience except several really good friends sent their kids there. I have another friend who pulled her son out of David's Stars for an incident. She doesn't say exactly what it was but it was a one strike and you are out situation. I checked them out too and was not impressed with them.

Lots of parents head to Walter Pierce playground when they pick of their kids from these daycares so you might want to take your child over there. You probably will find current parents of both these places.

We are moving to the Kalorama/Adams Morgan area next month. 6 month old is currently in Spanish immersion daycare and ideally we would want to continue with that. I've checked out the websites for David's Stars, Lanier Lullabies, and Kid's Corner but wanted to see if anyone had recent (e.g., post-start-of-Covid) experiences with these centers.

(I'm reaching out to the centers re waitlists/timing, obviously in the past it would be crazy to hope for a spot within a couple months but it seems like many centers have more openings than usual these days. In any event, we're expecting to have to keep her where she is for as long as needed, just trying to figure out where to aim for in the future. Happy to hear from you if you have inside intel as to whether one of these centers has openings).
