Try Goldbelly. They have lots of cupcake purveyors who aren't the one you've listed. They haven't been cupcakes but I've had really, really good experiences with Ina Garten's Conut Cake and some of the cakes from Duff Goldman.

Another option are the donuts from Wolfermans. OMG there is one person in my family who is addicted to them.

A PP is correct. Everything is shipped frozen. Try to get it delivered for the day before your birthday person wants to eat them.

Definitely Wicked Good since they're in jars and will ship better. The one in your title I've received as gifts twice now and both times they were clearly tossed around quite a bit before they got to me.

Not a cupcake but the MilkBar birthday cakes ship well and are really good (and I am not otherwise a big fan of MilkBar).

They ship frozen so I wouldn’t worry to much about where they’re coming from as long as it’s two day shipping or better.
