This isn’t a good idea, OP.

There are plenty of preschools that offer 2 or 3 half-days, which adds up to the same number of hours as 1 full day and is easier for kids to adjust to.

Not developmentally appropriate. Hire a sitter or nanny.

Just hire a part-time nanny or baby-sitter.

Not sure if this is close enough for you, it is in Fairfax. The home based care provider is flexible with hours and she has had children that attend for one day a week. She does ask for at least 4 hours at a time, otherwise it messes up the rhythm a bit. https://parveenaktherdaycare.wordpress.com/, or give them a call or text at 703-789-5344. Good luck.

Oh my god don’t do this! Unless your kids is like 4.5. My oldest briefly had a child in her class who came 1x per week and that kids just cried at least 30 minutes every day, more like the whole day. It’s not frequent enough for them to adjust. The daycare no longer allows it after how terrible it was for everyone

Hire a sitter for that day.

Does anyone know a daycare (preferably in the Fairfax County area) that has the option of only once a week care? Thanks!
