If anyone is interested, I just got an email from Koons Toyota of Westminster (MD) that they have a blue Prime XLE available on their lot. I do not know how much they may be charging. In January they were the lowest I found at $1500 over MSRP for a black Limited.

Anyone with a Prius is the Limited worth the extra cost over XLE?

Also minor accidents...fender bender the whole damn back end falls off. It is essentially made of kevlar.....go from there and an accident. My teenager will never learn to drive on this car. That is hubby's Subaru because it could hit a tank and keep driving.

Unless the CVT failed, the wheels bearings wore out, the CV joints went to sh!t or the head gaskets started leaking, like on literally EVERY Subaru I've owned

But you buy Subarus again and again…not Prius primes…. Must be a reason why

It’s a vanity purchase.

The OEM tires are the reason it’s so awful in snow. If you actually used decent winter tires instead of the hard-compound low rolling resistance tires they come with (for sake of fuel efficiency) they actually do just fine in snow.

Ok, but what is the impact on fuel efficiency with the other tires?

It drives well overall. You will need to buy window tint. It doesn't have it. you will need to replace the OEM tires at 30 k. They are dreadfully unsafe. There is no spare tire...good to know before you find out the hard way. I love my Prime. My husband HATES it. He has Subaru's and he considers the Prime a piece of crap. It is not for folks with more than 2 kids, or dogs, or people who do outdoor activities. It cannot off road like to drive to a barn on a gravel road. It isn't great for the fact that your electric charge only goes for 25-35 miles depending on driving and weather. It has zero storage...so if you have 2 kids in the back getting groceries is challenging. It is small and good for urban parking and driving. It is an engineering marvel and you will need a PhD to get threw the owners manual to fix things on the car or to know how to use it correctly. The Market Adjustment is 8,000 in MD. It depends on if it is your jam. Right now getting ahold of any car is hard. Good luck.

How is it to drive/overall comfort? We can’t find one to test drive so would have to order. Also, dealers are trying to charge 3-5k over MSRP. Is it worth it? There doesn’t seem to be a compelling plug in at that price point.

We love our Prius Prime. We bought it about a year before covid struck. We'd previously had a 2006 Prius.

I'm not sure what the Limited version has.

No negatives.

We have the blue version.

We charge it every night in our garage. There are also charging points around town that I will park at.

Thoughts on a red Prius prime limited?
