The student was deferred in EA. And it is a direct entry program, or whatever that is called, where the student applies to and is admitted to the major.


Deferred is not the same as the waitlist.

Because decisions for coming off the waitlist for a school you want happen in May, after you have to commit to another school, do you just lose the deposit on the school you committed to?

This is true in our house. DS has a top preference but wants to be sure, so we’re planning on 4 admitted student days over Spring Break. Parents of Juniors, this is something I didn’t plan on: revisiting during Senior Spring Break, at least not so many.

I wouldn't expect anything before May 1, which is when most colleges want a final commitment from the students that were accepted.

So many of the students I know are planning to visit campuses during spring break (mid April) before deciding, so will be waiting till the last minute to inform the schools.
